There is such quiet beauty in the undulating rural landscape surrounding this classic Vermont barn which sits in the middle of a field with “1880” spelled out on the slate tile roof.
The 1880 Barn is just down the road from the Mount Independence historic site which was the largest fortification of the American colonial forces. Now this part of the Champlain Valley is mostly agricultural. The barn, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Sites, continues to be used for hay storage.
